Spiritual & Physical Preparedness Workshop

October 3, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

$50

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Dr. Peter Hudoba, a successful professor of neurosurgery, practicing physician, medical researcher, and also a Certified Master Teacher trained by Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha, will share what he has learned to help people prepare for emergencies and unexpected events that we call ‘disasters’.

When Dr. Hudoba was leader of a thriving spiritual center in Vancouver, BC he taught his very fortunate students to prepare for emergencies.  He began to collaborate with a California preparedness specialist to train more and more students.  Then, with the fires in Australia at the beginning of this year, he offered preparedness training to Australian students.  With every workshop there has been an information exchange between Dr. Hudoba and students around the globe.  He has taught in Canada, America, Australia, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and now back here in the United States.  His workshops are tailored to what people need to manage their unique environmental and societal challenges — from earthquakes, fires, hurricanes, and floods to the effects of civic unrest.

Now, in the U.S. there are a number of crises happening all at once, building upon each other.  We are aware that the U.S. has high rates of infection from COVID-19.  This situation, now at least seven months long, has triggered historic unemployment in many economic sectors, and caused increases in homelessness and hunger.  The emotional backdrop to all of this is high levels of stress, fear, anxiety, and negative behaviors.

This is the time to be prepared.  Dr. Hudoba is uniquely qualified to teach participants how to prepare.  He has studied the COVID 19 infection rates in different countries, and also studied historic behavior of people during various epidemics and other natural disasters.  People need to learn from history how to handle unexpected events.

He will explain various health, social, and environmental events that have impacted societies’ normal way of life.  Dr. Hudoba believes that disasters have a yin and yang quality to them, and that we must prepare for disasters in a yin and yang way as well.  Yin-yang refers to ancient Chinese philosophy about seemingly opposite forces that are actually interconnected and counterbalancing.  Given the yin-yang nature of disasters, the best preparation is both physical and spiritual.

He will discuss the physical needs that people must take care of during disasters: the need for shelter, water, food, money, physical safety, social connections and networks, and appropriate behavior.

However, to focus on the physical aspects is not enough.  People must also prepare spiritually.  Dr. Hudoba will teach participants to use a special technique called the Five Powers technique to transform the message and manifestation of a disaster, and our inner and outer responses to a disaster.  He offers wisdom that is deep yet simple to follow.

Through many examples he will show participants what they need to do to stay safe and be prepared.  There is no need to be afraid; instead be prepared.  Help others to be prepared as well – spiritually and physically.
